Keys have been stolen
2012 Outback BH 312
My truck was burglarized and all my keys were stored in a crown royal bag and the thief stole the bag. I am locked out of my RV and not sure how to proceed. Holiday World was not much help.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can drill out the lockset to get entry into your RV. If you do that, you'll need a replacement lockset. You can buy an FIC lockset (probably OEM for your trailer) for $26 plus shipping at the manufacturer's website: http://www.fastecindustrial.com/products/ttlocks.html

Wouldn't any camper place have a set of master type keys? I am just asking before he drills out the lock set?
Can't believe that the dealership wouldn't help him out on this. I know that can't have a set of keys for every camper everyday to unlock them?
?????

He's dealing with Holiday World. Thats the dealership we have too and I can tell you, you cannot depend on them at all.
It would be much quicker and easier to drill them out and replace them than it would to get them to help you. When we had some very minor warranty issues, it took two months to get an appointment and as soon as they were done, they kept calling me to tell me I have to pick it up ASAP. One of the problems they said they fixed, they didnt, I gave up with them.
Stop in at Camping World right next door and ask if they can help you.

Most RV dealerships have a "master key" that will unlock the "top lock" on an FIC lockset. The master key will not unlock the deadbolt. In order to unlock the deadbolt, you'll need the actual "numbered key". There are "complete key sets" available (about $60) but not all RV dealerships buy the entire set. Most have a "master key" and can unlock only a part of the lockset.
Honestly, hitching the RV to the tow vehicle and dragging it all over Houston, trying to find someone with a key that will work ??? Whether it's Holiday RV, Camping World or a private dealership, I'd make a couple of calls, if there's not an immediate, "Yes, we can help, bring it in this afternoon" kind of response, I'd be ordering a lockset from FIC and drilling the old lockset to gain entry. Much less hassle and in all probability, cheaper than spending a day towing around "possible places that could help" throughout Houston.

I would figure on replacing the entire lockset. We Carry a couple in stock, and each tech has a personal set of pass keys.
If the scumbag knows your trailer, unless you change the entire lock, he/she will have access to your trailer.

skeeter, Howdy;
Have you called a Locksmith? They can 'pick the lock' then make you a new
key, usually right there on the spot if they have their work van there.
I mean, after all, it IS what they do ...

Stolen Keys solution -
Well I will have to agree Holiday world is not going to help - Mike484 and if you got your RV repaired by them in 2 months you did good. I am committed to using a different route then the Hollow Day Way.
My slides are out so towing is out of the question.
The Locksmith is a hopeful solution and if not I will go with drilling out the tumbler and have new locks on hand.
Thanks all for your help - It is good to know i have not been completely abandoned ...
I will be looking for a good place to buy the locks...

If you're in Katy, PPL Super Parts Store at 10777 Southwest Freeway has the Trimark lockset on sale for $29.99. http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/r...rk-lock-rv.htm
You can call them at 1-800-755-4775 to make sure they have it in stock before you order from the manufacturer. By the time you wait 3 or 4 days, pay shipping and taxes, you'd probably be "the same price" and have it today from PPL. They are about 35 miles from Katy.

Are your locks FIC? How big of a hurry are you in? I am currently out of town and should be home by Friday. If I can find it, I have a super duper key that was sent to me when I had to replace all of my locks under a recall. It will remove both cylinders-you would just need the new locks. Do you have a second set of keys?

The RV is down at Sargent and I will not be going down for a couple of weeks - so I am not in a hurry.
Unfortunately all my keys spares included were in the bag that got stolen.

Keys, making this way to difficult
Since you probably have a FIC Key, you can go online and purchase the exact key to open your door. As I've said before, we wanted to get a new set of keys for one set we lost, so contacted the dealer and they told us, 'go to rvlocksandmore.com', and you can order keys from them.
Your RV and compartment doors are stamped with a number, likely between 301-350, so you can specifically order those replacement keys for the existing lock. The entry door was a 301, and the compartment doors were 315. The replacement keys are a horrendous price of $2.99.
By the way, not only you, but anyone can order from this site a specific key, so if they look at your key code, which are stamped directly on the lock , they can order it, and get into your RV with little problem - or to save a looking, they can just order the whole set of RV keys for $68. But to order a master key, you need to be a dealer or a locksmith - little does it matter that you order the entire set!
If your worried that someone has the keys to your RV, you can order a new lockset also from this website. I ordered one which has a unique key set, so you can't just order the key like I just described, however they don't sell this lockset any longer, at least on the website. You might try and contact them to get a unique keyed lock.

A little different twist on my story! A few months ago I locked myself out of our fiver. Bitters sweet indeed as I have been putting off changing out the frosted window in the door. So with a smile on my face and a hammer in hand... I now have a matching smoked, see through, safety glass window!

After getting home I was able to locate "the key." PM me to exchange telephone numbers if you believe your locks are FIC and would like my assistance. Even if you are not sure your existing locks are FIC, I still wouldn't mind riding down to Sargent. The boss has been bugging me to consider finding a place in Sargent or Matagorda (or somewhere other than Galveston) to hang out on the weekends. If you need my help, let me know.
