Michigan campgrounds recommendations

Looking to possibly do a week long vacation to the upper peninsula of Michigan. I’ve never been that far up so I’m not familiar with the area let alone campgrounds. Wondering if you guys can recommend a good campground with full hookup?

https://www.northcountrycampground.com/ in the eastern UP. Close to Tahquamenon Falls and Whitefish Point. My go to place in the eastern UP, because it's close to a lot of things, with full hookups on some sites. Just north of Newberry.

http://www.michigammeshorescampground.com/ . Farther west. Near Champion, MI on Lake Michigamme. Nice spot. Not too far from the Lake Superior shore, Marquette, and a jump off point to the Keweenaw Peninsula. Mostly full hookups.

We traveled that area two years ago and came from the southern US. On the way up we stayed in Manistee at the Little River Casino. A very nice full hook up campground with lot's of space between the concrete pads. As a camper you are given entry into the pool/workout room and hot tub. During our stay we were the only campers using the facility, the hot tub was like a small pool with a waterfall on one side. It was pretty nice for a "campground". From Ohio not sure if you will need a night on the road, but this is a nice campground if you are in that area.
Outside of Mackinaw we stayed at the Mill Creek Campground. A very nice campground on the lake with full hook ups. It is about 5 minutes out of town on Hwy 23 to the east. From there we had easy access to the popular tourist sites and couple of golf courses.
We plan on returning for a month long trip this summer.
Hope this helps.

Munising Tourist Park just north of Munising (actually over the hill by the Holiday Inn). Full hookups at some sites, the "new addition" sits "directly on the shore of Lake Superior" (and I mean when the wind blows your rig gets wet proximity to Lake Superior). We prefer site 72. you can see the map here, Click on any site and it will open a photo of the actual site.https://munisingtouristpark.com/reservations-2/

There is a new campground in Christmas (about 10 miles west). It looked nice, but is not on the water.

Whatever you do, DON'T make reservations at Gitche Gumee RV Park which is just east of the Ojibwa Casino just east of Harvey (Marquette)…. It's a private campground with LOTS of complaints about everything from not honoring reservations to not honoring pricing upon arrival. I've never stayed there (based on recommendations of others) so I have no first hand knowledge, but the locals won't recommend it.

Thanks. I will check those campgrounds out. I like the idea of being by the lake for some good scenery and not looking strait another camper.
Some of the best places I’ve been able to find don’t have full hookup which I think I would want for a week long trip. I know it’s doable with the holding tanks but not sure I want to go that route at a place I’m not familiar with.

Serena and I were in that area last September. Very nice part of the state. Lots of great day trips. Great hiking. Very friendly and peaceful.

Start stocking up on but spray now, mosquitoes the size of bald eagles, not to mention black flies.

Another vote/recommendation for Mill Creek. It is an awesome place.

If you make it way north, don't miss the Shipwreck Museum. It is a must see.

I like Grand Maris...a county park. and the city of Marquette has a great city park if you want to view Lake Superior.
