bunk bed for todler mod

So my wife and I bought a 2015 Laredo 320TG with the rear bedroom that has 2 bunks....with our almost 2 year old son being too little to put up on the bunk, but too big to sleep in a pack a play I started looking for a solution that would allow him to sleep in the bigger bunk and not worry about him falling out. I thought about building something like a crib rail and making it hinge down, but then I came across this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 on amazon. with a 2x4 on one end and a 1x4 on the other it fits perfectly....for some added security I drilled 4 holes in the bottom rail of the gate and ran 2.5" screws into the wood. Works great and my son thinks its pretty cool![/IMG]

OK, almost looks like a "get me out of here..." scream. Good luck with it.

Certainly meets the need of keeping the child contained and safe from falling injuries.

On the other hand, this could also be considered a death trap if there was a fire in the trailer. Just something to think about...

thought about that....it opens easily with the push of a button on the top.....not much more difficult than lifting him out of a pack in play.
