Hot water heater DSI FLT lights ??

I read on another forum that the DSI light means the hot water heater is trying to lite when its in LP mode. Is this true? Then shouldn't I see the light each time I turn on the LP switch? I remember seeing it once about a week ago and it went out after a short time.

Also, prior to this, we were able to take a hot shower without running out, but this past week we have been running out of hot water quickly.

I usually run both the electric and LP while we are taking showers, then switch the LP off.
