Angry Water heater

Has anyone had any problems with suburban water heater not lighting some times, then over loading with gas and lighting with Big Bang. So loud that your neighbors come over to check on you. I took it back to dealer (CW) and basically said cant find anything you must not be purging the gas line. Like I'm stupid!! I told them it happens even after I've been out for a week or a month. Can't find anything so come get it is what they have said. I know it happen randomly but I guess I have to what for a fire or for it to stop working. Any help out there ? I have clean the tube and blown it out with air compressor. But still happens Help

I had the same problem, it was a weak ignitor. Had it replaced under warranty. Took them about 15 minutes to replace. That was about a month ago and no problems since.

Mine did the exact same thing, didn't always do it. Maybe once every couple days. Sometimes it would make the 3 attempts and fail to ignite, I would then have to shut it off and then back on to reset it. I may have to do it 4 times, but it would finally work. It was very sporadic. It may run for a week or 2 with no problems and then bang starts all over again.

Good luck!

Same Issue ... All fixed now!

Had the same issue this summer on our new Passport. Unit worked flawless under electric power ... but did the 3 cycle thing and "woof! woof!"

Dealership replaced the ignitor under warranty .... has been good for 4 weeks of camping after that. Winterized now.
