Michelin LTX® M/S2 Tires

Time to put some new tires on my 2012 F350 4x4 SRW. Present tire size are LT275 65R20E. I was thinking of trying the Michelin LTX® M/S2 tires. Any experience with these?

I have them, they ride great but my experience with them is after 15000km they are half warn out. My expectation based on reviews that these may be the last set of tires I need to buy with reviews speaking of a 100k plus. I got 45000 out of the factory jobs so a little disappointed in these at this point from a thread wear stand point. The second half of the thread may be built different and last longer but I doubt it.

I replaced my Goodyear OEM tires on 2009 Silverado at just short of 50,000 miles. Some tread left, but had a long trip coming up and wanted the peace of mind. Read everything I could, seemed to be the LTX M/S2's kept coming to the top of the list. Price, other's experience, marketing as a 70,000 mile tire, etc. With the 20" wheels, I recall being somewhat limited on getting higher load rating tires. You can see from my signature, I'm not hauling the biggest of trailers though.

I have close to 10,000 miles on these, look to be holding up well. Haven't measured tread depth but nothing that makes me concerned enough to do that. If I get between 50 and 60,000 miles, I'll feel I have my money's worth. So far so good.

Just started running my 4th set of LTX MS2 tires on my 98 Dodge Ram. I only get about 40,000 miles but I run smaller tires, 245x75R16. My 3rd last set started weather checking and cracking on the sidewalls after about 3 years, ultimately Discount Tires replaced the 3rd set for about half price due to the cracking at 22K miles/5yr age. Based on posts I've seen on this forum and RV.net, I think quite a few people have had the weather checking/cracking issue on more recent vintage LTX tires.

Just put 4 on my truck today. I had a set of Geolanders ATX I bought 3 months ago and less than 2500 miles on them. Was not happy towing the 5er. I took the bullet per say and sold these at real good deal and bought the Michelin's today at lunch from Discount Tire, They had the best price in town by 200 plus dollars over anyone else. I lost money on the Geolanders but the tread was so aggressive that I was not comfortable pulling the 5er with them on my truck. We'll see, I could have bought the Michelin's originally for what I am losing on the Geo's when its all said and done.

Check out the Cooper Discoverer HT. Very similar tire to the LTX. They are very quiet, handle rain great, and have good smooth ride with and without the trailers. I don't run them in the winter because I am in the UP of Michigan alot in the winter. I run AT'S in the winter. I've had both LTX's and HT'S and keep coming back to the Coopers.

I've used several different tires over the years, BFG, Yokahama, GY, and have not found anything better for ride and wear than the Michelins. Just put a new set of MS2s on my truck last month. They are expensive, but with a 70k mile warranty they actually cost less per mile than any other tire I've found. Do the math, you'll see what I'm talking about.
