Check the weight of the trailer loaded and get a floor jack that will handle more than that.

For changing tires in driveway, any jack that could lift it. On a road side change any bottle jack. We do not have room to jack a floor jack 3-4 ft away from the trailer side. You would be standing in the road or against a guard rail, wall etc.

floor/ bottle

be sure to know the axle weight before buying your jacks. I have a 3 ton floor jack for the shop. I carry 2 bottle jacks in the rig. why you ask if you have a blow out ive found my big bottle wont fit under the axle. so I use the small one its full extent and use the big one when it will fit. its awkward but easier on the road. you could use one jack and blocks.

I have taken a different approach since I do not like to have anything hanging out in the roadway if I need to work on a flat tire. I did a lot of research and ended up buying a "Trailer Aid" tire ramp. This is than mounted on a 2X8 board; extra height required to raise trailer in the air more. You then either drive the trailer forward or back the trailer on to the ramp depending on which tire is flat. I will than use a bottle jack to raise the flat tire axle for changing out the tire. In this way the bottle jack is not support the trailer weight through the axle and suspension.
