RV Window Breaking?
I bought a new Hornet and 10 minutes after I bought it and was driving it to my camp site my sliding door window broke after hitting a bump on a bridge transition on an interstate highway. Has this happened to anyone else?
Keysone says no warranty, sorry!

First, welcome to the Forum...... I hope that you will get some feedback from our members about your glass breakage. Not sure how old your unit is but if it is still within the 1 year Keystone warranty, you should get some compensation from Keystone. Have you had a chance to go back to the dealership and speak to them? If it is a brand new unit, somebody (either Keystone or the dealer) should come through for you and make it right!
I am not familiar with the Hornet and the sliding door window you referred to so I cant help you out. Hopefully, some of our members will be able to.
Let us know if your problem gets resolved. Richard

Windoew Breakage
It is a 2008 Hornet, I bought as a leftover, I thought it was a good deal.
It has a sliding glass door, looked very nice.
Garick RV in Oak Ridge NJ was the dealer.
I called Keystone and was told no warranty on glass.
Garick offered my no help whatsoever!!!
They wouldn't even file a warranty claim in my behalf!
Now I am afraid to take it on the road. I can't afford to buy a new window every 15 miles.
I need another Keystone dealer, Garick could care less about my problem.

Is it possible that the dealer might just 'look' at the trailer to see if anything might be out of whack with the frame that the window goes into?
Because since this is new, possibly there was a factory defect.
I would think the 'least' they could do is give it a once over.
Did you ask for the owner of the dealership? Don't bother with those salesmen.....
Let us know what your result is.

Owner of RV Center
I spoke with the owner of Garick RV in Oak Ridge NJ.
He did nothing, he said it was an internet special price.
With that you get no customer service at all.
Neither he or his service manager put a claim into Keystone for me.
Simple answer was glass isn't covered.
I guess mouse feces in the drawers and ants in the unit weren't covered as well.
This went from a fun purchase to a nightmare thanks to Garick RV.

Seeing that you purchased it in New Jersey. Jersey law requires safety glass on all vehicles and trailers. If this window is exterior it should not have broken. Even interior glass and mirrors has to be safety glass or have a film to keep it from breaking. Perhaps if you approach the dealer or Keystone from a safety point of view you might get a better response.

Had the picture window in slide on 08 29RLS Cougar break on I-15 in Salt Lake City. My insurance covered it.
Took a while ,but, Glass repair shops had glass to fit, but was illegal to install, due to not being tempered.
Factories in Goshen and Pendleton Or, both said "sorry". You unit is out of warranty.
Dealer in Or. tried to get Pendleton plant to release a window to him, or repair it.
They said "We don't repair trailers, We build them" Refused to release a window to him.
Dealer in WV,and my ins co got it fixed

Since this happened while driving/towing it should be covered by your insurance company.

As said above it could have been defective/damaged and the next one would/should not be. Just because this one broke doesn't mean the next one will. If insurance doesn't cover this one they should cover the next one.
Sounds like you got a good deal on it and with a little more investment and cleaning out the mouse and roach mess you should be good to go enjoy your new trailer. Don't let this bum you out, it's just a little bump in the road (sorry, pun intended)
