Brought the new trailer home yesterday

Brought the new trailer home yesterday, man it tows nice... Didn't go but 177 miles from dealer to the house, but it was over State Hwy and back roads. 333MKS did great and the F250 hardly knew it was there, stayed in 6th most of the time with cruise control set at 60-62 and down-shifting was minimal and mostly limited to long hills.

Airbags kept the truck level and you couldn't tell there was a load on the truck.. Smoothed out the washboard, chuckhole filled narrow roads of East Texas very well... Thank you Firestone

Now to move all the stuff into it. It has so much storage when compared to the old one I don't think we own enough or can afford enough to actually fill it up.

And the auto level, retract, hitch is the best thing I've seen in many a year.. Push a button and stand back... I ain't been this excited about a toy since I was a kid and I got a whole case of BB's for my Red Ryder.

A quick shakedown trip to a State Park about 60 miles from home for my birthday. Just going for Friday and Saturday nights, then back to work.

But it'll give the DW time to rearrange stuff to her liking, before the Christmas/New Years trip to Goose Island State Park at Rockport, Texas.. That one will be the first real trip, seems working to pay for all the toys just gets in the way of playing with the toys..

I know that feeling When we bought ours we promised each other a "weekend a month". Then I started working for the dealership I bought from and, well you probably know how it goes. I plan to really retire next year, saving for another cross country tour.

Enjoy your trips, sounds like great fun

Thanks y'all the DW is after me to hit the local CoE campground next weekend so she can put things away with the A/C running.. problem is the CoE is 30a only.. May go to Lake Whitney SP where they have 50a its only 40 miles after work next Friday.

Already got a mod of sorts planned... gonna cap the water lines to the washer so I don't have to fool with them when I winterize. We camp during the winter and so I winterize 3 or 4 times before the last freeze.

Javi,

Rather than cap them, since you'll be in the same place doing the work, why not put a couple of 1/4 turn valves on the lines at the "T" with the supply line (in the underbelly), that way, if you ever do decide to use the hookups, all you'd have to do is just turn it back on. Cut a couple of access holes in the coroplast and cover them with plates made of coroplast and you'd have access if and when.... Might be easier than undoing the caps and reconnecting???? Just a thought

Thought about that, I had cut-off valves on almost all the fixtures in the Passport.. Although the DW says it will be a cold day in hades before there is a washing machine in our trailer...

She makes me go to the laundry mat, while she relaxes...
