We've enjoyed going here, not while camping, but just in case you are looking for something like this.

Also, yes, Watkins is a great place to hike, especially on a hot day.

Pick a lake and just hit the first winery you come to. We've primarily done the Cayuga and Seneca Wine trails, but Keuka is closer and there are some good wines from those places.
