Tires

Hello everyone,

I have china's finest towmax (blow max) tires on my keystone 31fls.

This will be the 3rd season we've had the rig.

There is orange color showing up on the sidewalls of the tires.

Otherwise they look fine.

I had a bit of orange color last season. Black cat tire dressing took care of that.

I have not covered the tires.

Why do they turn orange and is this OK?

Thanks!

I'm thinking it's probably something in the rubber compound reacting to the UV. If you are going on your third season with them, I would consider replacing with a set of Maxxis 10 ply.

The only thing I can think of is brake dust from rusty drums but that is stretching my imagination. With certain brake pad compounds I have seen my trucks rims covered in reddish dust.

Thanks everyone. Dark and rainy here in Michigan today. I'll try to post pictures tomorrow.

The rig was on a campsite for the winter. No brake usage.

I did notice that the side that got the most sun has a more prevalent orange color.

Just got back from my trip with the blow max tires. They did just fine. The Orange must have been brake dust. The Orange color is already gone since applying black cat tire dressing.
