Ok I have 3 inch clearance on the right side and 3 1/8 inch clearance on the left and that is with a full tank of gas and nothing in the back... My normal load is a Harley Ultra Limited (900lb+) and misc other stuff. Also sometime in there with the Harley is my 1972 CB500Four. There is no signs that the tires have ever come in contact with the brackets. Hope this helps.

Also I forgot to mention I have the Dexter EZ Flex suspension kit with wet bolts on my 302 and did not measure before and after to see if it changed the ride height.

Tires

I went to a 235/85 16, but it is a 12 ply F load range tire from Hercules.
They maxed out the wheel rating as well.
I ran into 2 issues the first was the bracket. I used a large adjustable wrench to bend it up and back. no need to remove any metal.

The second issue was the drive rod for the slideout on my 2010 -302.
The sidewall was a little close for comfort so I removed it gave it a bend at the perfect spot reinstalled it exactly in the same location that I removed it from and I have not had an issue with either one.

FYI after loosing a centercap I put locktite on the screw, a friend lost all 4 of his.

Toy Teacher - Thanks and yes, that definitely helped me out. I think I'm going to have to do something. Mine are about 1/2 that. The amount of space you quote is about what I had with my old tires.

So do I understand you correctly that you changed your suspension system and you now have something other than the OEM system? I'm not familiar with the "Dexter EZ Flex" suspension. That might have given you extra clearance. If you changed out your suspension, why?

BOWWOW - Thanks for the info. I never even checked my slide out side. I guess I didn't know there was anyway there could be interference on that side. My camper is still in the garage, better get it out this weekend and take a look at that closer. Very helpful information. Thanks.

Well I installed the Dexter EZ Flex kit for two reasons ride quality and I can keep the suspension lubed... Also the kit replaces the plastic bushings in the springs with bronze bushings. Kit part #K71-653-00 Dexter states it does not change the ride height. Go on the Web and do a Dexter EZ Flex search and there are pictures and videos.

As for my tire sizes my stock Tow Max tires were 30.8 and my Goodyear tires are 30.7 this is per both manufactures web pages.

Well that is clearly one advantage to paying the price for the Goodyears . . . they are direct replacements with no modifications. The Sailun's are definitely larger by about 1 1/2".
