Good wattage for that price point.

Everything looks good, but keep in mind it weighs about 110 pounds.

Yes, I think it's about 10 pounds heavier than the Predator 3500.

I really like the dedicated RV 30 amp plug, auto carb draining feature when shutting down, 57 decibel, handle for transportation with big wheels, and of course more power than the Predator. Not to mention $100 cheaper than the better prices I've seen on the Predator. The reviews look awesome.

Just an observation: This WEN generator warranty statement says, "...free from defects in material or workmanship during personal use for a period of two (2) years from date of purchase or 500 hours of use; whichever comes first."

Harbor Freight warrants their generator: "...free from defects in materials and workmanship for 90 days from the date of purchase." (the emissions system is warrantied for 2 years). There is a "one time exchange" offered for additional charge.

Champion's warranty is: "... free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of three years (parts and labor) from the original date of purchase..." Additionally, there is "lifetime technical support" from their internal 24/7 customer support center.

While warranty is not a "one and only deciding factor" it is, at least for me, a significant consideration in purchase choices. YMMV

Just got it in, super quiet and able to run both the 15 AC and 13.5 at the same time. However adding the microwave tripped the breaker on the generator. A little heavy for one person to load in a truck bed, but maybe too heavy to disappear, lol.

I'm surprised you got both ac units to run on the 30 amp. circuit.

This is a great price! I have the same unit.
I researched a lot of gens before purchasing. This seemed like a good generator and cheaper than both the Champion and Predator at the time. I used it to run the house 120v circuits while the power was out during the NorCal fires and put 45 hrs on it without a hiccup.

Likes: Quiet, RV 30A plug (Predator twist lock adapter seems like a bad connection to me), fuel shutoff, digital gauge, plenty of various plugs/ connections, built in handles and wheels, lithium battery.
Dislikes: Digital gauge has no amperage reading but a dumb LED bar graph. Fuel tank is smallish for extended runs.

Note: I purchased the magnetic dipstick after run-in since there is no oil filter. When I changed the oil, the magnet was GONE. I probed around in the engine with a coat hanger and a bore scope and could not find it. I can only assume its found somewhere safe to stick because it still purrs along quietly.

Good grief! I would have to find the magnet before running again! How many bolts to remove the crankcase pan? Probably the pan is aluminum and the crank is steel!

Yes I was sickened when I found the magnet missing! I purchased it in hopes of prolonging the engine life. Now I do not know when it will grenade.
This engine I believe is a split case small engine- no pan. I have reached out to WEN but do not expect they'll do much if anything.
I can only hope its stuck onto something and at most will cause a slight unbalance. It has likely run 40 hrs with it missing so hope it stays where it is. I just don't have time to tear into the motor.

I would be contacting the company and retailer that sold you that dipstick.

There's a review about this generator where they guy had the magnet problem. Not wanting to have that issue, I wonder what can be done. I'm going to try and crimp it down. Maybe pulling it out, and drilling the hole slightly deeper to give a lip to crimp.

This is the best way IMO. This way it cannot slide out unless the rolled over edge is cut/ground off.

And if you buy the HF extended warranty in 1 day short of two years and you have an issue they hand you a new generator. You pay the warranty again and the cycle starts over. Something you don't get with the others. Since you're making it a point that is.

Bought this unit a year ago and ran it several time this last season dry camping. I do recommend the generator. It's easy for my wife to operate with the electric start and auto shutdown. The only two things I see as a drawback are more my convenience and not the products. 1- Remote start for cold mornings or rainy mornings. 2- The 30amp receptacle is reversed for a downward dog-bone or at least mine. I'll get a straight inline one or try to rotate the receptacle.
I did get the cover for it and seems to be of good quality and fits well.
I did go against my gut and didn't buy two smaller units and the parallel connection. Most of the time you don't need all that wattage output unless you're running a air conditioner unit. Also they would be easier to handle and store, your wattage output would be great too. But I still love the unit.

I just received a Harbor Freight email announcing a 15% off coupon on everything (including their Predator generator line) for the next 3 days. So, today, tomorrow and Sunday, if you use the coupon at this link, it's 15% off anything at HF. If you're an "insider's club member" it's 20% off. https://www.harborfreight.com/ The "get this coupon link" is at the top of the banner on their home page.

Just got wind of a Champion open Frame 4000/3500watt dual fuel inverter generator that is rated at 64db and costs less than the HF or most other inverter generators... at 64db I'd say it's got to be pretty quiet ... and it only weighs 84lbs... 20lbs less than most others... not sure how long it's been around... wheel kit is 36 bucks... so 699 + 36 sounds like something to look into more seriously...
