GE 12 volt fridge??

Does anyone here have the GE 12 volt fridge? We have a 2021 Bullet 290 BHS with the GE 12 volt fridge. It cools great, maybe a little to great. Seems to be a fine line between freezing stuff in the back of the fridge and being to warm. We set it to cold and get a sheet of ice in the back and it freezes our food. Setting to cool and the freezer doesn't even freeze. I constantly have to play with the knob. Also seems to be very dependent on outside temperature. Anyone have this issue?

I had one in my previous trailer (Cherokee Wolf Pup 18RJBBL). I describe my experience with it here:

Specific to your comments, I found it slow to come to proper temperature after startup and hard to maintain it, especially with frequent door openings. Temperatures also were inconsistent within the box, with thermometers on the front of shelves often showing 40F+, while, like you, items at the back would start freezing. The freezer, on the other hand, was more consistent with its temperature levels.

My Hideout has a 10 cu ft 12V Furrion fridge. I've been pleasantly surprised with its performance so far. I haven't tested it rigorously like I did the GE, but in the real world it gets to proper temperature faster and holds it considerably better than the GE did, eliminating the need for workarounds to maintain temperature like frozen water jugs or aftermarket fan. Internal temperature seems more consistent throughout.

A battery-powered RV fridge air circulation unit may be an inexpensive fix to address the localized temperature variations.
