Fridge stopped working
Hi everyone,
The fridge in my Springdale stopped working. It's a 2020 33.5ft TT with a fridge model CU606CM. Nothing comes on in the fridge, not even the flashing lights. The TT is hooked up to 50amp power and everything works just fine. I've checked the panel to make sure the plug is in properly and it is.
Any help please?

I think the question about what brand has more to do with the way the refrigerator makes cold. My refrigerator works off either propane or 120V AC. Some of the newer campers use 12V. It is important to know how the refrigerator makes cold (what powers it) to help diagnose what to do. If my refrigerator isn't connected to a power pedestal (120V) then it defaults to propane automatically if the controls are set that way. If it is connected to 120V then the 120V powers it but there is 12V involved as well. Most folks don't know refrigerator model numbers well enough to guess what TYPE of unit you have.

Since it’s a Dometic, it’s most likely a 2 way RV fridge.
It will need 12VDC to turn on and operate. Take the lower access panel off and look for a plastic “block” that will have 12V from the fuse panel. Test for 12V and if you find it, then follow the positive wire and it might have a “thermal fuse” near the chimney. If it’s blown that’s your problem. If not and you get 12V on both sides, report back for further testing.
There is a tag with model/serial number inside the fridge, can you post a pic of it please.

To answer both questions, it is a 2 way fridge. The RV is connected to power pedestal, 50amp. No other issues there. I have a feeling it is fuses but I'm not present there, and my in-laws are not technically savvy. So I'm going to have to hire a RV Repair tech to come see. I'm gonna be upset if it turns out to be a fuse lol They checked the fuse panel and nothing is tripped or red lights.

Maybe you can email them this photo of the control board with instructions on how to access it to check the fuses... There are two, a 5 amp "auto type fuse" and a 3 amp "glass tube fuse"... You can see both on this photo of the control board...
Some older boards had two glass fuses so you may find the "auto type fuse" or a glass fuse in the 5 amp slot.

I wouldn't necessarily trust my in-laws and for the price of an RV tech service call would save me from more gray hair.... that is a figure of speech as that is all I have except for white hair.

Hey all, so I just spoke to the RV repair techs. Yesterday they said it was that board fuse blown. They said there's also water damage and I should swap it. Today they're saying the board is damaged and I need it replaced and they said the board costs $475 and labor is $280 so the total to replace it is $760.
Now, do these prices sound right to yll? I just wanna make sure I'm not facing a predatory shop, if that makes sense. I don't wanna take any shortcuts with our RV but I also don't wanna be taken advantage of. It's nuts to me bc a coworker told me a new fridge is about $1200! So I'm paying almost for a new one! Anyways, thank you in advance for your input.

THAT'S FREAKING OUTRAGEOUS PRICING !!!!!
A Dinosaur Electronics control board (considered the best in the industry) runs about $150 on Amazon and not more than $200 at most RV parts stores. https://www.amazon.com/Dinosaur-Elec...27930926&psc=1 A OEM Dometic control board runs about $115 at most RV Parts stores: https://parts.unitedrv.com/products/...xoCjeIQAvD_BwE
The "RV Repairman" that made the service call and replaced the fuse was at the point of repair/replacement of needing only 5 more minutes to replace the board, so the "charge for the part is about 3 times the actual price of the part and the charge for labor is apparently "another complete remote travel charge, replacement charge plus incidentals charges".... If they were "wrong the first time" then I'd expect them to return and finish what they didn't do that I've already paid for....
I know you're "in a bind" and apparently they also know that and are using that opportunity to squeeze every penny they can out of your wallet......

Thanks for your input. I thought so. I'm outta state for work and a guy that works here works on RVs as well and he too is telling me it's outrageous. He said it's fairly simple to replace. It's just a matter of pulling out the wiring and putting it back in same order. He recommends using a sharpie to label everything and taking a picture.
My question is do all dometic fridges use the same board?? I'll be back home Saturday and wanna know if I can order on Amazon and do it myself

You only need the model and serial number. Located inside the fridge on the right side.

There are, I believe, three different Dometic control boards. If you can get your inlaws to send you a photo of the "data label" on the inside of the refrigerator cabinet (inside the cold part, not the freezer) it will have the specific model number. On the Dinosaur website you'll find a chart that gives you which of their control boards fits that model Dometic. With that info, you can either order from Dinosaur or even use Amazon's "next day delivery"...
Here's the link to the Dinosaur electronics webpage for Dometic parts: https://www.dinosaurelectronics.com/Dom_boards.htm
As stated, once the black plastic cover is removed, almost anyone with the knowledge to take a photo of the current control board can unplug it, remove the 3 retaining screws, take the old one out, put the new one in its place, reinstall those three screws and then follow their photo to plug in the plugs.
This is, at least in my opinion, a simple task that can be accomplished by anyone who can tell the difference in their left and right shoes and once on, tie them without help..... That said, there are some people who can destroy a steel bar, so I have no idea which category your "trailer guests" fall into.....

Couldn't find a sniff of that refrigerator on the Dinosaur website but on another site, they mentioned the Dometic board P/N was 3851331011.
https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Domet...-p/69-4068.htm
I think you will need to take the cover off the board in order to find the Dometic Part Number and can't swear the link above is correct but I would call the Dinosaur customer support. I didn't see the 3851331011 part on their Dometic cross reference page:
https://www.dinosaurelectronics.com/Dom_Chart.htm
They have form you can fill out and also list the retailers who sell there stuff as Dinosaur doesn't appear to sell direct to the public. You could try calling one of the retailers but I think I would also try the form on the website.
Best price I could find for that board was on Amazon (about $100 less that the RV parts places)

Hey so I just got off the phone with Dometic. They asked for product number of fridge and said the part number for the board I need is 4450020229 and it's called power module. So I'm gonna look on Amazon.

I'm looking on Google and a few searches turn out similar product but this one on Amazon says it can be here Saturday
https://www.amazon.com/Dometic-33163...02528542&psc=1
The part number written on it is different than the number Dometic gave me. But it's what Google spits out when I searched for that 4 number. Am I reading too much into this? Lol. I have 11 hours to buy it for Saturday delivery.
I can't find an equivalent on Dinosaur chart.
Thanks again.

That's what was blown in my Dometic (DMR702), the thermal fuse.

I have a Dometic 2 way fridge in my RV. I came home from camping in the spring a year or two ago and left the fridge running because I had things in it still.
The weather turned really hot about then and my fridge quit working. I left it off for weeks and when I turned it back on it still didn't work.
So for our fall trip I bought a mini fridge to get us by until the next season.
But strangely, during out fall trip I turned the fridge on just for yucks and it worked again.
I have no idea why it started working after sitting for a couple of months, but it did.
Did you leave yours running during hot weather?
