WOW, my wife is doing way better than me as we adjust and restock the new trailer.

I did get the TV installed with a swivel mount that allows viewing from the galley as she cooks, to the couch across from it, to our bed.

I have just 3 RC cables coming into the cabinet from the sound bar, I guess...
And I can't get the TV audio to play through the sound bar, nor will the DVD player.
Anybody got any suggestions?
The RC cables are red, white and yellow.

I made some wood mounts that wedge under the TV for traveling.
It is hung very well but I don't like thinking about it bouncing too much.

First trip Monday.

Just some questions; what models TV, soundbar and dvd player? Is the soundbar the receiver as well or it a separate unit? With those hopefully we can determine inputs/outputs etc. of the components. I didn't see a dvd player in the pics....

If the TV and sound bar both have HDMI it makes so much easier. Just saying.

If your soundbar is factory installed, you'll need to connect television and soundbar, (probably) with a fiber optic cable. That's that half moon shaped connection port-jack on the back of the television and sound bar. You may also be able to connect with an HMDI cord. The Red, yellow, and white cable is most likely the input cables from your DVD player to the television.

How old is your television? It's not very common for newer televisions to have the RCA jacks. Everything now is either fiber optic, HMDI, or Blue Tooth.

WOW..... you guys sound smart

The TV is a Samsung I took out of one of our spare bedrooms, maybe 3-5 years old.
The DVD player we purchased last year, a LG cheaper model.
The sound bar came factory installed with the trailer, a Furrion.
I am guessing it is also a receiver since it pays music station as well.

The DVD player is attached to the TV via HDMI and plays as it should.

I have 2 HDMI ports on the TV, and another one similar, but not the same mate.

The sound bar-receiver has a HDMI port on the front of it, nothing is attached to it, nor do I have a HDMI cable running into the cabinet with the 3 RCA cables.

Maybe I can post pictures of it, would that help?

I have a schematic wiring diagram that came with all the other paperwork, but I cannot vouch for is that is the way its hooked up in the rear as its mounted inside a cabinet with no access, other than I guess I would have to remove the front face, or....????

I know I have power, I have radio, I have speaker location ( inside/outside ) so I am guessing they got it right, the issue is I don't know what I'm doing

edit: Also, it has a dome/receiver/directional antenna and 5G something that you can upgrade to. There is a small panel with 2 coaxial outlet connections and an on/off switch that lights up a light when turned on. None of that is attached to the TV, or any other stuff from that location.

Does the TV have an HDMI ARC? Soundbar? Sounds like you just need to get it wired/set up right. Samsung's usually have a generous amount of various ports including HDMI depending on model. Don't know if they had the ARC connections several years ago but I'm sure 3 years ago they probably did.

OK...it's working.

Put HDMI into port #2 on back of TV and into HDMI slot on sound bar in front, works great.

Too simple for a er..... simpleton

you should have a hdmi slot on the back of the sound bar also. may need to remove from wall to access…that will hide the cable

I misspoke......

The TV was turned up loud, I mistook that for the sound bar working

I removed the soundbar.
I found the output on the TV.
However, no place to plug it in on the soundbar????

it looks like you can hook up a red and white rca wire from your tv audio out to the red and white rca marked tv audio in…don’t need a yellow video wire for that..doesn’t look like you have a optical in for the sound bar ..possibly the hdmi on the back works but there isn’t much online as far as explanation in the furrian manual.

if you have a separate dvd player you could do the same but send the yellow video wire to the tv possibly …if you look at the questions under the etrailer listing of this sounbar you can see others have problems …you could buy a vizeo soundbar with optical connector’s and have a superior product that will be much simpler imo

Bottom line, I'm not sure it will make much difference anyway in such a small viewing area.

Unlike most things- computers for example which offer new technology but are functional with older stuff too- I found that my two Samsung sound bars, versions in the 5. something, were not even compatible with a Samsung TV that was a little older, a 4. something vintage. It was frustrating. Solved by a Yamaha 385 receiver. Now it all works fine and using wireless speakers are much easier than running wires. No longer a Samsung fan!

also go into your tv menu settings and choose external speaker or soundbar so the signal will go out on those rca jacks

Yep.... we have used HP computers for years, DECADES....

Same deal with them.

Purchased 2 "all in one" models that really do more than I need, talk to, touch screen, and who knows what...
But all those features have quirks, or more like beyond my mentality to absorb.
Been having issues with our feed.
It's a small independent company that recently, and still is, installing fiber-optics along the roadways.
We still can't get 5G service here on the island even.

All of this stuff makes my mind swirl.

I used to chuckle to myself when I use to walk through the airports and see folks glued to their electronics, the person next to them might be having a heart attack.... and they wouldn't even notice.

Hell, now I'll probably be holding my phone when I have a heart attack.

Just heard a report that a Japanese company is working on a robot that will have a sense of humor and use it to lighten up conversations, etc...

I guess the best I can hope for is that they have no weight restrictions to be BEAMED UP

you could probably use one of these to convert the optical to analog/rca signal also…not sure why the furrian doesn’t have an optical input

Well I tried everything thus far and no go.

I opened the TV manual via the TV itself, went to sound, under expert settings, which I am NOT...
Tried to understand greek, which I ain't

But I saw one thing of intrest.
It said if the sound bar was NOT Dolby, like the TV, and trying to use RCA cables, guess what, you will get NO SOUND.......

AH, I think I understand THAT.

While in that setting I "optimized" the sound where the TV plays LOUDER so I can drown out my wife when she is asking me why can't I figure this problem out, are you stupid or something?

I'll save my last bullet

I might try that gadget, price I can afford, we'll give this a whirl camping next week, I'm thinking the TV sound might be better than this POS anyway

EDIT: Jasin, I saw you are from the upper Chesapeake Bay area, I always wanted to visit that area ever since I read the book by James Michner decades ago.
Is it still worth a visit a pulling the trailer from the west coast?
I imagine I could swing through DC, never been, heard that is a must see, maybe some of the other areas of our nations founding's too?
Is this area trailer friendly and easily doable?

I really like it here but It’s where I grew up. The northeast is generally tighter roads and lower bridges but there are many routes around the obstacles. I think it’s worth a trip but I’d probably take the northern route and visit Michigan along the way. I’m sure there are people that have the perfect route but it is a long one for you. I’m gonna make it out west one day
