Need new foam for dinette cushion

Spilled a half bottle of vegetable oil on the dinette seat which worked its way into the cushion foam. Took off the cover and washed it but the foam was like a sponge and not salvageable. Any place or ideas to replace this foam?

You should be able to get foam from a local craft store.

There are lots of places that specialize in upgrading RV seat cushions with much more comfortable foam. Now you have a great excuse for an upgrade! (I really need to do this myself, and change to fabric covers as well, instead of this sticky vinyl.)

Most fabric stores also carry upholstery foam.

If you cannot find a local supply house then try https://buyfoam.com/. That is where I sourced foam for new boat cushions.

You might want to check a couple of upholstery shops around your area. Often they will order foam blocks for a specific reuholstery job and have enough left over to work for you. For them, it's just taking up space that they don't really have and they might sell it to you for a great price, just to get it out of the way..... If there's several upholstery shops around, just measure the foam, give them a call and ask if they might have it in stock. If they do, ask the price, you might find a bargain right next door.

As for cutting/trimming foam, an old electric carving knife is the easiest and quickest way to cut it to size. Practice on the excess before you make the "crucial cuts"... Handling a carving knife to keep a square cut is easy, but usually takes some practice to get it right.....
