First Tow with new to us Ram DRW

Well it wasn't far just 20 miles up 101, BUT the difference of night and day. The old 2001 Ram 2500 CTD with small chip and RV275's pulled well but with 3.55's and a manual 5 speed trans, wasn't quick off the line. I knew the 5er was back there but never a scary moment, just knew it was back there.
Now the new 2016 Ram 3500 DRW CTD, pulled on to 101 north, and stepped on the throttle and we were very soon at speed. Ride much smoother than the 2001. I was very pleased with how it looks hooked up, looks to be at most 1" or so pin high, something I will likely not worry about.
I will say as much as it never bothered me to row gears, and the 2001 had a BD 2-Low, for backing, our new sight required backing about 100' down a narrow road and then turning into an angled site with trees on both sides.

Nice rig there!
Is that the bike rack mounted to the king pin box?
If so, it does not impede your turning radius? (Bikes hit the truck)
That could be the answer I've been looking for.
Thanks
RMc

Yes it is no issues with cab clearance, in other post about pin box mounted bike racks one guy carried four bikes on a short bed.

I have the receiver fabricated, I marked and cut the angle, leveled trailer, then placed angle iron on pin box and drew a level line with a level, simple as that. Used a 4" angle grinder with cut off disk. Found local welder that welded it and punched the four mounting holes. charged me $30, I paid him $40!!

I got the angle iron for free from a store job site, they were going to toss it. One of the few times I had my suit case inspected!
Sure it looked pretty strange in my suit case flying home from Detroit.

I completely understand! Going from my old 97 7.3 to the 2011 6.7 was such a difference. The newer truck handles the 17,000 lbs. much better and the power is effortless in comparison. I towed the Fusion from Tampa to Tallahassee last weekend and I set the cruise at 70 mph and she was rock solid rolling north.

Russ, don't let anyone tell you that the hitch looks less than professional/original equipment. And the rig looks great!
