Good afternoon everyone my wife and I are planning a trip early October going from Vancouver Washington down to Utah to see the national parks I plan on taking Highway 93 all the way down to somewhere around Saint George and then turn over into Utah does anybody have any ideas spots of sight to see going down there and any trouble with diesel appreciate anybody response thank you.
I’m pulling a sprinter fifth wheel 34 1/2 foot long with a 2500 diesel Silverado 4x4 pick up short bed.

Not much on 93 except help a hundred miles ahead of you or hundred miles behind you vs 20 ahead or behind 20 one I-5.

I would do this:

Vancouver to Wildhorse Casino and RV 218 Miles
To Mountain Home RV 259 Miles
To Gold Spike RV Bringham City, Utah 242 Miles
To Brice NP 300 Miles
To Zion NP the long route as you are to long for the tunnel. 127 Miles

Another option with be to go farther the first day to say Farewell Bend SP 354 miles
To Golden Spike 363 miles
To Brice NP 300 Miles

We also like to stay at Heyburn Riverside Park RV. Really nice small park and you come walk to and see the Snake river from the park.

BTW we are mostly likely weather premitting going down 93 on our way to AZ for the winter, as it is the shortest route for us. And we think stay away from large cities trumps a lonely road. Chris

While in Utah you could stop at Moab national park in October it still warm. The green river runs through arches national Park there some nice state parks that allow the use of the golden eagle pass.

How much time are you planning to spend visiting the parks in Utah?
Do you have any camping reservations at the Parks?
Do you dry camp or prefer hook-ups?
Some of the National Parks have turned into quite a zoo this year due to folks doing road trips and trying to vacation without flying and doing hotels etc.
Besides the "Mighty Five" https://www.visitutah.com/places-to-.../the-mighty-5/ You can also sneak down to Grand Canyon and Monument Valley or up to Grand Teton and Yellowstone.
We'd be happy to help with some alternative camping ideas in State Parks close to National Parks. Often times it's easier to set a base camp and travel to the parks in your truck.
If you are interested in indigenous peoples history and ruins this is really the place for some very unique and interesting hikes.

Plenty of fuel stops along 93. You'll intersect I-15 and head up the Virgin River Gorge to St George. From there its a about an hour to Zion. I'd recommend Zion Canyon campground in Springdale. It's literally at the park entrance.
From Sprigdale you can use Hwy 9 to 89 then north on 89 to Hwy 12 and Bryce Canyon. Ruby's Inn is the best full service camping option just outside the park.
From Bryce you can take HWY 12 to Capitol Reef NP. Wonderland RV Park is a really nice and full service just outside the Park. Great camping inside the park at Fruita Campground if you can get a reservation. Hwy 24 from Capitol Reef will take you to I-70. Go east on 70 to Hwy 191 and Moab. I don't have any particular recommendations in Moab as I usually dry camp in the area. Moab makes a good place to stay and visit Arches NP, Canyon Lands NP and Dead Horse Point State Park.
Let me know if you'd like other options based on your camping preferences.

Shafer Hill near Moab

If you want your wife to NOT talk to you for a few days, take her down the Shafer Hill. Ask me how I know! Chris

We followed the "Good Sam Trip Planner" from Monument Valley to Natural Bridges National Monument. It routed us over the "Moki Dugway". https://www.dangerousroads.org/north...ugway-usa.html
DW was a little upset to say the least All routes MUST now be approved by the DW before any plans are made.
