Low watt space heater off an inverter ?

Looking for comment on running a low watt heater off an inverter when dry camping? The propane furnace is great for a quick warmup but is very loud especially overnight.

I just came across this 130W/260W 2.6amp space heater . This seems feasible to run off an inverter?

Thx

That might warm your hands up if they were less than a foot away.

How big is your inverter and what do you have for battery(s).

As mentioned above, you can run as large a heater as you want if you have the batteries and inverter to back it up. What do you have?

As mentioned above, what do you do with a 130/260W heater? It's not going to do much of anything. I have 3 1500W heaters/fireplace that I use at various times for various things. 260W seems like that might be a placemat warmer??

Nearly all 120 volt electric space heaters are rated at 1500 watts. They produce roughly 5100 BTU's of heat. That's roughly 3.41 BTU's per watt of power.

So, your 130/260 watt electric heater will produce somewhere around 440 BTU on low and 880 BTU on high. That's around 9% of the heat output of a standard space heater. I'm not sure that would give you much more than, as Marshall said, about the same heat as a good hand warmer. It certainly wouldn't warm an RV interior. If you think about it, most percolator coffee pots use 1100 watts. That coffee pot puts off nearly 8 times more heat than that "IR Heater"....

I don't think you'll be satisfied with the heat output... Looking at the link, there's a $30 coupon.... If they're selling a $114 heater for $30 off.... Hmmmmm
