To Angel Fire, NM?

I'm going to try to visit my sister in Angel Fire NM this summer on my way to Colorado. I'll be coming out of Texas, likely Amarillo. Looking at Google map I can't find a decent way in there towing a 18,000# 40ft long 5th wheel. I've been up and down 285 & 84 towing a stock trailer to Pagosa Springs elk hunting. I know I can handle that, even the bad part up at Chama & Chromo. Google map says 412/64 into Cimarron, Eagle Nest and Angel Fire. My sister says I probably shouldn't come through Cimarron. What does she know, she's driving a sports car. I'm looking at coming from the west, Espanola, but that doesn't look too good either.
Anybody got a good idea?

Brent,

Here's a link with a discussion on this. Look at post 12 I believe. It might be of some help.
