Bullet 246RBS is home!

Well, the dealings done and the bullet is in the driveway. All systems test out okay. Even the grey and black tank handles are labeled correctly! Lol. Only issues I have found so far is missing caulk around the shower walls where they meet the bottom pan. I will goop them up myself. No toilet paper holder in the bath but we bought a floor stand type that works great! That and the fact that the kitchen sink sits at an angle and there is no place for a dish drain on the counter! Not a deal breaker and I think we will find an in sink drain somewhere. So far we are loving all the space and storage. Wife is demanding a trip next weekend just to give it the real work out!

I had noticed that my Bullet doesn't have caulk around the wall - tub juncture either. Perhaps this is by design.

I see it as a spot for water to seep through and get to the flooring.

Congrats! We have the 246RBS also and love it! I'm pretty sure no caulk is needed around the bottom. There is probably a lip on the pan that cannot be seen that sticks up behind the wall portions. After numerous vigorous showers, I have noticed no water escaping and I have even pulled the door on bottom and looked underneath the pan. Dry as a bone. There's no doubt a big overlap. Lets see pics of your RV. Is it a 2012? Ours is a 2011 and I believe there were some changes made. I also posted a pic of a toilet paper mod on this forum that I did in our Bullet.

And a few more

Shelves in the wardrobes

Found a large empty space where the water heater is so I walled it off and this is where we store cases of water and soft drinks

Covers for the skylights

When I picked up my new 2910bh in May, during my walk through they told me there was no caulking by design. The flange goes high enough behind the shower wall to prevent water leakage. The shower / tub are meant to flex and any caulking would quickly pull apart with the two pieces moving separately.

Enjoy the new trailer!

thanks for the info. so the floor pan actually goes up behind the wall far enough that water that gets in there will run back out? sounds good to me and no need to caulk for no reason.

For WGB1:

Your towel rack, toilet roll holder and key holder are beautiful. Where did you purchase them?
We have a similar unit, and those would work well for us.

thanks for the pictures.

I believe my wife purchased the TP holder and towel rack at Lowes. The TP holder is screwed onto a piece of wood from Hobby Lobby which is glued onto the wall. The key holder is from Target and stuck on with Command strips. I left a bit sticking out in case I wanted to relocate it but will trim it off so the white cannot be seen.

After exchanging emails with a Keystone rep about the shower issue I posted earlier they have told me the tub wall does in fact go up behind the shower wall and is sealed to the main wall so even if water got in there and high enough up the wall it could still not get down under the pan. Any water in that crack will drain right back out.

Thumbs up

Nice mods WGB1. Will be borrowing some of those ideas.

I can first hand let you know there is no need for the caulking. I had the shower out of my last TT 4 times. Yes, the tub has a flange about 1" tall that goes up behind the shower wall. That flange is caulked to the wall of the trailer (at least it was in my coachmen, keystone looks to be the same tub.) Unless you are camping in near zero gravity, or upside down, the water should not be able to get behind the shower and onto the floor. Except out the front side from splashing.

Mine is the same. The only issue I have is in the corners where, if the trailer is not level, water may run off the side of the tub and onto the floor (in front of the tub).

If anyone is having trouble "visualizing" the flange and how it works, next time in Lowe's or HD, stop by the 2 piece fiberglass tub display and look at the edge of the tub and the shower wall surround. If installed correctly, as Newk said, it can't leak behind the shower surround unless you're upside down.....
