Toilet Valve Cracked

We have a 2015 Bullet 272bhs that has a crack in the water valve at the back of the toilet. We are having trouble finding the correct replacement part. Does anyone know what part we need or have any suggestions for the repair? I’ve seen several posts where people just replaced the entire toilet. Is that our better option?

Well, depends I suppose on the toilet. Mine is a dometic and the valve is made to crack when freezing to avoid costly other broken parts. Around 50 bucks a lot cheaper then a new toilet that will crack the freeze valve again and it's a 15 min repair. Now to prevent that again, when winterizing what ever mention you use have someone stands on the peddle so the valve gets clear or all water or fills with anti freeze. Thats a dometic not sure of all models but the 310 is one.

What brand and what model toilet do you have? There is a BIG difference in valves and replacement procedure for Thetford and Dometic toilets. If you have a Dometic, it's a 15 minute job and no need to remove the toilet from the floor. For the Thetford, the toilet must be removed, valve replaced and toilet reinstalled, so it's more detailed and time consuming.

There's no need to consider a toilet replacement so long as it's only the valve that is cracked. Toilets are $125-250 valves are $18-30. If nothing else is wrong with the toilet, save your money and just replace the valve.

But if you have the Thetford you'd be better off replacing it with a Dometic, better quality, much less repairs, less costly repairs & just a better toilet.
I could've played for 1/2 a new toilet for what the foot pedal cost for the Thetford & if yours hasn't fallen off yet, it will.

I’m not sure what kind of toilet we have. I’ll try to go out and locate a brand on it. It’s the basic standard plastic toilet that came with the camper.

My 2017 370BR came with a Thetford Aquamagic II. It was replaced with a Dometic 320 when less than 4 months old.

I had a 2011 Sunnybrook with a Dometic 310 and it was leaking/cracked from day one. The water valve has been a bit of an issue since they started manufacturing it. I called Dometic customer service yesterday to ask about clearances for a 320 as I am a current Aquamagic owner (it just doesn't cut it as far as shape and having to bend over to flush/fill). They told me the "redesigned" valve in 2015 (I think) and there are no more issues with it but I was told they had redesigned it in prior to that (in about 2012) and that didn't fix the thing. Other owners have found that the valve is not retained by two screws as it is supposed to be and that is another source of leak issues. When funds allow, I am going to buy a 320 and install it (and buy a spare valve).

I apologize for re-opening the thread, but I am having trouble figuring out the model of toilet we have. It is a Dometic. Can someone tell me how to find the model on it?

Domestic manf label

The manufacturers label (serial number and model) should be just below the foot pedal toward the rear. Also the 320 is an enlongated bowl. 310 is more of a round bowl. Google 310 owners manual - page 11 shows where the label is located.
