Newly found coax jack

I found a new dual coax jack in the ceiling inside the cabinet over the TV. It has a very short piece of coax connected to both jacks. What is this for? Is it a split so you can have cable in the bedroom without switching the cable back and forth? Why are there 3 total jacks in that cabinet?

It's probably the "pass trough" cable. Using it for "cable TV" or "over the air TV" you leave that "patch cable" in place. If you're using a satellite system or a Cable TV box, you'd remove that patch cable, connect the output of the two to the input of the satellite system and the output of the satellite system to the input at the ceiling jack. That way your "satellite dish" is routed to the receiver and the output of the receiver is routed to the TV's in your RV.
