Campground Recommendations

Being this is my third thread today, you can tell I'm all excited to start camping. So far, this week I have made reservations at a different campground for a weekend each month of the season. I live in Newark, DE and we like to keep out camping excursions within a few hours of home. Curious if those who live in and around me have any recommendations for campgrounds you like and why. I have reservations at:

Masseys Landing, DE - Brand New RV park by beach
Lums Pond, DE
Elk Neck State Park, MD
Gettysburg Campground, PA
Lighthouse RV campground - Cedar Point Sandusky OH. - I know, far away but our 1 longer trip this year.

Curious to know your favorite Gems I might be able to fit some time in for. Love to know why you like them so much too. Thank you in advance!

Fletch

We love Old Mill Stream Campground in Lancaster right downtown on Rt30. Very clean and staff are very friendly. Only drawback in summer is it is next to Dutch Wonderland which can be a little noisy during the day because of rides. Nighttime is quiet everything shuts down early enough. Happy camping

Thank you for the recommendation. I'm very familiar with that area and have been to Dutch Wonderland many times when kids were smaller. Never heard the campground but I'll check it out. for sure, that's nice and close. BTW, curious are you familiar with Rt 896 into Lancaster. I've driven it a hundred times but never with a TT and never looked at it from a low branch perspective. I see 18 wheelers on that route sometimes when I drive so should be ok, but the roads are twisty and narrow with low handing branches. Didn't want to rip off my A/C. Do you travel that road with your rig? I have a reservation in Gettysberg and the route goes along 896 to Rt 30 and was nervous about it. I'm usually not a Nervous Nelly, but the unknown is what I hate! lol

Thank you Sir!

Beacon Hill

Beacon Hill in Lancaster is nice. Stayed twice on two different time and years.

We do not get to that neck too often but did go to Cherry Hill in MD last year to visit DC which was nice and are possibly heading to Virginia Beach this year to Hol-i-day Park. Been to Hershey a few years back and stayed at their campground. Would consider moving the Virginia to Hershey this year.

We stayed at Country Acres Campground near Lancaster PA while touring the area. Very nice campground and free bus tour of the area included.
We also stayed at Cherry Hill Campground when we visited Washington. Great campground and friendly, helpful staff.

We have been to both and highly recommend them . Cherry Hill has Metro piclup to the subway. Holiday in Virginia Beach has everything including live entertainment in the summer. I hope you like F-18s. The park is next to the Oceana NAS and under the landing path. They quit flying around 9pm. I loved it! Both park personnel were very friendly. We will return to both.
One website I have used for years is rvreview.net. Cull out the complainers and look for trends in all the posts.
