Fan question

2008 Montana
When I turn on the galley ceiling lights I hear a fan start up and run.
Can anyone tell me what's this fan for and where its located?
Sound comes from down under trailer.

If you are connected to shore power, it's probably the cooling fan on your power converter. As you use more d.c. power, the fan kicks on to help cool the converter.

It's your converter, swap out all your lights to LED's and you'll never hear that sound again. Also LED's are much brighter and they never get hot and melt the plastic housing

X2 on what Steve S says. Swapped all mine for leds. I never hear converter fan anymore. Lots how to info on this forum to convert to led bulbs. Got mine off Ebay. They were cheap and no bad bulbs or other issues.

elkrott, Howdy;

If you are hearing the fan as soon as you turn on the first DC electric
device I would have the battery checked, the fan shouldn't come on
right away. I found out the hard way. Cost me 2 new batteries, mine
had fried during a hot Summer. The worse shape the batteries are in
the harder the converter has to work.
