Jensen DVD error message

We have a Jensen stereo/DVD player in our 2012 Keystone Outback. Everything works on it but the DVD player. When putting a disk in it spins and spins and ends up saying err on the TV. We have tried several disks. Instead of buying an entire unit can I buy a separate Blu-Ray player to hook up to the TV? I am assuming if I can, the sound would not run through the Jensen and the speakers we have in the camper?

The headphone out jack on the TV can be connected to the RCA jacks on the stereo to get sound through the camper speakers. You'll probably need to select AUX on the Jensen to get the input connected to the amplifiers. Then you can connect the Blu-ray player to the TV, route the sound from the TV to the stereo and use the existing speakers. You will only have stereo, not 2.1 or 5.1 surround sound, but at least it will be better than the little TV speakers.

I know this thread was started quite a while back... I am having the same "Error" message on the Jensen DVD player in my Bullet. Just curious if anyone has any tips or tricks to possibly get it working, or if it is pretty much a given that it is "done"? I did buy one of the "Laser lens cleaning" discs, and ran it through a few times. Then, I put a brand new DVD in, and it worked one time. Went to use it a second time with the same DVD... Back to error message only.

I did try to hook a small DVD player up to the TV, but it would only seem to display the image on the TV in about half screen, and it showed subtitles the entire time. I spent a good while trying to correct both issues using settings on both the TV and the mobile DVD player. I couldn't get anything to work satisfactorily. So, I ended up just coming to the conclusion that the factory DVD in the trailer is what "needs to work". Just hoping I can figure out some way to trick it into working? If not, possible warranty claim I guess on the entire Jensen unit.

Will pass along this info just in case anyone else may be having the same "error" issue with the Jensen DVD....

I used a bottle of compressed air today to blow inside of the DVD slot. I have since been able to get 2 DVDs to load right up and play. Certainly hope that this continues as I really want the Jensen all in one unit to perform and not have to use a separate DVD player. Much simpler obviously to play from the Jensen....

Yeah, the compressed air probably should have been #1 on my list to try. But, you know how it is when you get a new trailer. I have been busy doing "this and that", and this DVD problem simply was a ways down the list of things to do.

Anyhow, just thought maybe someone else might like to know that, yes, at least in my case, the air did the trick.
