Air Bag system
I have just traded in my 1995 Ford F150 for my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. My truck has a lift kit on it and I am currently running 35-12.5-20 tires on it. I have a weight distribution hitch that I use to tow my 2013 Passport 2650bh. I have noticed that when I hook up that it still sags my truck some and I know some sag is normal. I have been thinking about putting an air bag system on my truck. I'm not sure if that will mess with my towing or not? Any feed back will be greatly appreciated.

Dobo, If you are using air bags to help level your TV and Trailer combo they work well. Just don't expect them to increase your payload. (Technically the weight of the system becomes part of your payload) Since you must keep some air in them to prevent damage to the air bags they will affect your unloaded ride also.
I use Riderites and after hitching I raise the rear to unloaded height (about 2") this way my headlight aiming and seat positions are always the same. Some say the unloaded ride is harsher and some say softer ... it all depends on the seat of your pants. I like them and I am sure you will hear from those that don't. Travel safely, Hank

I installed the LoadLifter 5000 in our dodge 3500 4x4 it made the ride a tad smoother and leveled it out.
Took maybe 2 hours to install spent most of the time looking for tools
If we ever get a new truck I will install these again.

Got mine from E-trailer online fast shipping.

Are you sure you have the weight distribution setup properly? It doesn't sound like you are transferring enough weight to the frame when you are hitching up.
If you are not properly distributing the weight, air bags will level the ride, but you may find you are overloaded on the rear axle and that the weight distribution is doing very little for you.
Did a shop set this up for you?
Also, if you are running a really long drop with weight distribution, be sure you have a solid drop hitch capable of handling the stress of weight distribution under load; otherwise you do run the risk of bending or worse yet, snapping it off.

Dobo,
The dodge 1500 platform is greatly enhanced by even the most modest airbag helper setup like the Airlift 1000. It's under $100, eliminates sag and helps with sway. It can get you back to level, where you can then continue to deal with further fine tuning.
Like the others mentioned, it doesn't increase any capacities but helps a GREAT deal with stable, level towing with our platform.

Try one more link in your bars. That might bring it up where you need it to be.

^ That depends whether his bars are about level with the trailer frame as he had it set up already (he didn't mention that).
