Slide Floor Replacement..water damage

We bought a 06 Keystone Hornet 28 BHDS for the granddaughter while she was attending LSU..it has been sitting at the coast for the past 2 years. We towed it back to Rockwall County..the Mrs says she wants to make changes to it and use it as a "Park Model" to operate on electric only. The majority of the trailer is OK,
but the rear slide in the bunkroom, the floor in the slide has to be replaced due to water damage! Can I do this by myself?? Brace up the open slide,remove/replace the rot wood with new..or do I need to remove the slide to do the job?? This is the first travel trailer we have owned..and I need advise from other owners on how to do this job without causing more problems or Me going to the hospital!!
Any Info will Help. Thanks.David.

slide floor replacement

David,
I did the floor on the bedroom slide on my rig. Pretty straight forward. I did not remove the slide nor have to prop it up.
Once the perimeter trim pieces were removed the screws holding the old floor became visible.
The old floor came out in chunks.
I slightly undercut the new floor ...AC exterior plywood, and scooched it back into place with a little coaxing from a small pry bar.

Before I installed the new piece I coated it with several coats of Black enamel paint. The good stuff that used mineral spirits to clean up.
This gave me a smooth waterproof underside with no need for another cover material.
Carefully sealed the trim pieces back in place and that was that. Took me about 8 hrs over two days. (paint had to dry). Been in for three seasons now still looks like new.

Hope this helps
