Towing mirror help needed
We have a 2011 SR5 Tundra CrewMax TRD with the 5.7 engine. I need towing mirrors since the stock mirrors are heat and electric adjust only but not telescopic for towing.
The new camper we pick up May 3rd is a Keystone Hideout 26B (5200 dry and 7600 max loaded).
I didn't worry about this stuff with my Corolla and a Coleman popup camper ... Now I am fretting over buying the wrong thing and having them be noisy, floppy or whatever
What are my options for a solid towing mirror for a Tundra?
We head out for 5 weeks from Lake Placid to Florida in mid June do I have time to order etc.

On another truck I had we just used clip on mirrors over the stock mirrors. You can order after market electric mirror, most likley a couple hundred each and then install cost's. I would use the clip on, amazon.com has some.

I use the "Fit System" 80800 mirrors on my Tahoe. They are vehicle specific. They fit great, don't mar the finish, don't obscure the main mirror, look factory, and don't rattle. I got mine from Amazon.
A power adjustable telescoping towing mirror would be a nice upgrade but these are great for the price. With them, I can see straight down the sides of my 8-foot-wide Passport.

I just put after market tow mirrors on mine(Had the Cipa slip-ons). They look great and fit like OEM. Got them from truckchamp.com. I saw Tundra mirrors with power, heat, and turn signals there for $269-$316 depending on what style and options you need. Took less than 1 week to come in.

I got mirrors from same place same quality as OEM. Not to bad to put on if you know how to get the inside door skin off. They take a little getting use to, but work great.

2011 Tundra Towing Mirrors
I also have 2011 Tundra SR5. I bought Cipa slip-ond custom mirrors from Amazon for $49. Have used them 2 times...work great. They slip on over stock ...heated Tundra mirrors and have a knob which you tighen to secure them to stock mirrors. Very happy with the mirror and low cost. Without the mirror I could not see anything behind me with my Keystone Passport 250BH.
They are listed as CIPA 11300 Toyota Tundra Custom Towing Mirrors at Amazon.

Just traded my 2011 4.6 L for the 2012 5.7L. Had the same dilemma. The stock mirrors aren't geat for towing a larger rig. We had a 199ML to tow withe 2011...mirrors ok....I would swerve a bit to see behind me if you know what I mean. Went to TRD Sparks Toyota (South Carolina)and ordered the replacement to mirrors. Ill try to get the specific model num, bers for you but you can also get from website. My 2012 is a base tundra with power mirros (glass moves) and heat. New tow mirrors are perfect. Heat works...moving glass works....side marker lights and turn signal on mirror also work. You have to extend and retract them manually....but I'm OK with that. There are step by step instructions here on the forum with photos...extremely helpful. Just search for tundra tow mirror. I will say the I did not need to completley remove door panel to install. If I can swap them...ANYONE can! .Just be very very careful to not drop parts down inside door. Can do it yourself but easier to have 2nd person helping hold mirror in place while you secure it. I was able to do one side alone but had DW help out on the other side with another set of hands. New mirrors come with rubber seal...be sure to pull equivalent from stock mirrors off the truck prior to installing new mirrors.

I put these on from Amazon. They went on with no issues and work great. There was instructions on several Tundra forums on how to install them. My mirrors were heated and electric and the new ones work also.

I have http://www.amazon.com/CIPA-11300-Toy.../dp/B002RW244Y and they work great...unlike what some others say, I have no vibration and they don't come loose. I suppose a larger mirror surface would be better, but I can still see what's coming up behind my trailer, and $49 plus shipping (and not having big, chunky mirrors on my truck ALL of the time) is a whole lot better than $400 plus installation on the power ones.

We also use CIPA slip on mirrors for our F150. ALthough they are not "exactly the same" as the ones that fit the Tundra, it's the same concept and same design. They don't vibrate, it's easy to see with them and they slip off easily once no longer needed. The only problem I have with mine is adjusting them. The truck mirrors are electric, easy to adjust and fine tune while driving. The CIPA mirrors are manual adjust and it's a bit trickier to get them just right. Good thing is, once they're adjusted, if you don't push on the glass when removing/installing, they are adjusted "next time you need them"
I'm happy with CIPA, you may very well find they work for you too

Another McKesh user. Best we've found. Much better than CIPA or TowN See, both of which we used previously. More expensive also of course.

Thanks to joindy, and the others that recommended the CIPA 11300 Mirrors.
I purchased these "slip on" towing mirrors (as a set of both right & left) from Amazon last night at the $49.99 price you quoted ... but Free Shipping also!
(BTW - my local trailer dealer where I bought our new 2012 Hideout sells the Exact mirrors for $85.95.

Ok, the Slip on mirrors have been on a couple hundred miles and they are as tight and vibration free as the factory mirrors. I can not say enough good about them.
I surely want to add my voice to the strongest recommendation possible!

After much searching for mirrors including post by MIKEPATC I got the Milenco Aero mirrors from Amazon with free shipping. So far really like them

blind spot mirrors
Y'all may think I'm crazy, but when I got my suburban it had the little round blind spot mirors stuck onto the stock mirrors.
I had used the clip on mirrors in the past and I can see as good (or better really) with just these. Liked 'em so much I got them for my wife's minivan - $5 for two mirrors.
