Stab jacks

Expecting delivery of our new to us 2010 318FLS tomorrow and I'm trying to get everything ready for the big swap from our little Arctic Fox to this big bad boy.

Never have had electric stab jacks and it looked like they were controlled from the front and rear of the rig, 2 at a time. My question is: do the jacks compensate for uneven ground or do I have to be prepared with a bunch of different thickness pads?

Most people use some kind of pad (wooden, plastic, etc.) to place under their front and rear stabilizers. In some areas, the ground may be soft and you need a wider "footprint" to prevent the feet from sinking into the soil. They also can be used to even out uneven ground if the jacks are not independent of one another. I'd suggest having a few blocks made of something with you as part of your camping supplies.

It's always good idea to have something under your jacks. When one jack hits the ground, board, rock what ever it maybe the other jack will keep going down till it hits whatever is under that pad.

Yup, always have carried pads to place under the stabs in the past, but only one piece for each corner. My fear now is that one would need to carry multiple pieces to build up for uneven ground. In the past with my manual screw down stabs, ya just crank each respective corner until they do their job.

Since we live in this unit in one spot I just want to make it as stable as possible and I am trying to be prepared so when delivery is made I can get it set up and start the transfer of "stuff" while I have the help here. Being in a wheelchair sure sucks, all the time!

I also have a TT with the front and rear electric stabilizer jacks, these
are not meant to level your TT, you level the TT by placing wood or plastic
blocks under the tires (or 4-5 ft lengths of wood of appropiate width to
level side to side and use the front jack to level front to back.

The stabilizer or stab jacks as you called them are meant to just do that
stabilize the trailer so it does not wobble or shake when you walk around
inside of it.

I interpreted your question differently. Yes, they do compensate for uneven ground. When one hits ground, the other one keeps moving. I have used mine in a few uneven spots with no issues. They do seem to move slow, but they are faster than hitting all 4 corners manually.

We have electric (rear) stab jacks on our 5th wheel... as Newk said (in part), "they do compensate
for uneven ground. When one hits ground, the other one keeps moving."

We also carry the plastic leveling blocks to use as a larger 'footprint', as Festus mentioned.
