Attaching wires to roof.

I plan to attach a forward view camera on the front of my front vent cover and want to run the electrical to one of the front clearance lights. What is the best way to fix the wire on the roof and protect it. There has to be a better way than just duct taping it down.

Duct tape isn't the answer but Eternabond tape will get the job done and last the life of the roof. I keep a roll on hand for an emergency repair.

I would use zip ties with screw eyes. Cover with Dicor and call it good. That will allow for removal without “major surgery”.

The solar and satellite systems come with zip ties or p clamps and the instructions say to cover the screw and clamp with Dicor. I personally wouldn’t use eternabond tape.

We had our Travler dish installed in Jan 2013, and the CW in Las Vegas used the plastic P clamps to hold the cables to the roof and were covered with Dicor. We have never had an issue with the installation, no leaks or anything else. This is a very reliable method of attaching cables to the roof.
