Residential fridge

My fridge only runs when the inverter is on. When I connect to shore power it shuts off and no power to fridge. On a side note....in a pinch, which I’m in right now, can I leave the inverter on and be connected to shore power (because that is how it works at present) without damaging anything. Thank you in advance for you help.

I agree, so you know brand/model of inverter? It should have a “pass through” feature that allows AC power from an outside source (shore power) to provide power to the fridge.

^^^^^ Agreed, I turn my inverter off when connected to shore power so the slight hum in the bedroom goes away. If the pass thru indicator is not coming on there is something not wired right to your inverter or the inverter has an internal problem.

Have you checked all of your AC breakers? On my panel, the left most one is wired to the fridge and will prevent it from running on shore power but still allow it to work with the inverter switched on.

Make sure the wires are hooked to the breakers. On mine I had a couple of wires not tightened to the breakers.
