On my last RV (2015 Thor Hurricane) we had one insurance claim for
a roof replacement (about $18000 minus deductible) included water
damage repair/electrical repair.

Also had to replace windshield twice at about $3600 each minus
deductible.

I found the upkeep and maintenance of a motorhome too expensive
for my taste so we have gone back to a towed unit. I would have been
money ahead if I had just kept the 2011 Keystone Springdale TT we had before the MH.

Everything about RV trailers needs to be flexible because you're towing a house down the road. They are designed with that in mind. A spray-on bedliner like Line-X would not be flexible so I wouldn't want to try it. If you can find a permanent and flexible product it might be worth trying.

You want it done right, the first time, and with a lifetime guarantee then.....

One of my sons (46) works for a body shop. Of 4 painters only he can do bed liners because both prep and spray are very fussy. I would go with roof company. Had ours done 3 years ago and it is always outside. MN and AZ so it runs the gamut for weather. Lifetime warranty to original owner and 20 year transferable if sold.

The rvroof.com is the website for FlexArmor. Did you actually use this product for a new roof? It appears this company franchises local companies to install their product. Big draw back for me was pulling my trailer up to Bertram Texas and leaving it. This product is sprayed on rather than rolled on like RV-Armor.

To anyone looking to have RV-Armor coming to you and installing a new, lifetime roof, let me know and I will get you a discount code for $100. I would get a small referral fee I think.

I’d be concerned with weight and flexibility. Bedliner may be too ridged.

They are not installing bed liner. They are installing a product developed for RV roofs. I think this is done by franchises and there seem to be a lot of them that pop up on a google search. Here is an example:

We just coated the roof on our 2006 Montana. We used Dicor White Rubber Roof Acrylic Coating, preparing the surface with Dicor Rubber Roof Cleaner Activator. The roof looks fantastic, and the coating covered some trouble areas that we were concerned about. This cost us about $250.00 for 2 bottles of cleaner/activator and 3 gallons of acrylic coating. We have a 37' 5th wheel, and we needed about 2-2/3 gallons for two coats. The preparation (taping plastic sheeting to the RV, to keep from damaging the sides), and it took us most of a day to do it, but it was worth it. We were concerned about the condition of our roof, and it looks like it will hold up several years more. For a video of the process, go to

I had a new 1 week old dodge sprayed with LineX back in 1996. LineX was relatively new in 1996, it was the new spray in liner after Rhino. The fellow that sprayed my 1996 Dodge pick-up was getting request to spray wooden fence post, the foot rest area on farm tractors, anything that needed a un-slippery surface. I have thought about RV roofs too.I think LineX would be a good fit, it is relatively thin compared to Rhino, the feel of LineX is like mixing sand with paint where a non-slippery surface was needed.

Yes, LineX comes in several different colors, I have seen it myself.

RV Roof

There are several companies that make roof products, A full timer we ran across in Tennessee told us about one called snow roof, said it helped with temps. inside the rv. I went online and found it at ACE hardware. about 100 to 150.00 for what they call 4.75 gallons and if your wiling to do it yourself it a lot less than some on here. We will be putting it on our tt shortly.

Paint came off of some spots tubular steps on my sierra, took it in for warranty and said they needed to find something tougher instead of normal paint, I suggested line x . Getting it done next week.
