My last 4 vehicles came with nitrogen filled tires. The first time I aired down the 80psi to 65 on my truck and then aired back up to 80 with my compressor I defeated any benefit of the nitrogen. What is my alternative? Make an appt. at the dealer and wait to run in and have them filled? I think not. And, what do I have 4 compressors for if I don't air up the tires on all my vehicles? Nah, regular air hasn't given me a problem in over 50 years as well so I think I'll have to stick with it.
^^^Yep.^^^

78% N2 is good enough.

Jets may use N2 in their tires, but little airplanes that don't experience the high altitude environment use air with 78% N2. Cars and trailers are in the same environment as the little airplanes and aren't race cars. You may opt to start out with nitrogen, but eventually it will be diluted as described above.

Wouldn't that make the air sound funny when you air them down.

Who knows... I was "killing two birds with one stone" by discussing nitrogen and air-bags in the same post! LOL!

This is a whole lot like putting the toilet paper in the holder over the top or under the bottom. Everyone has a preference, both work, neither is right and if you get it wrong, someone will tell you about that. I am starting to wonder if this is what owning a trailer is all about.

The "only acceptable way" is over the top with the "end sheet" folded at a 45 degree angle (with the end folded under, not over) starting the fold at 12 o'clock and ending it at 3 o'clock with the point of the folded angle on the right side of the roll. Any other "TP storage" is just "uncivilized"

Note: It's getting harder and harder to find TP rolls that are cut wide enough to keep the folds at 12 and 3. These "narrow rolls" have to be "massaged carefully" to manage the 45 degrees.....

Anybody that's ever used steel wool pads to "burnish" circles in the stainless steel shower walls will understand, others, just believe it really happens.....

Air Force, right? I heard that was one of the subjects in basic training.

Is 100% nitrogen beneficial for all tires? IMO it depends on availability. Without availability it's a waste of time and money.
As a private pilot, I have had some knowledge though admittedly not an expert on aviation. Nitrogen is used in high altitude aircraft tires because it does not absorb nor condense water. When a high altitude flight descends from 30K + feet the tires will go from -40+ degrees f to whatever the ground temps are. This would result in a pressure differential and resulting condensation of any moisture. Race car teams use it as their tires are running at much higher temps do to the friction created to increase the traction. Track crews inflate tires to very precise pressures adjusting them in to 1/10 PSI for conditions (track surface heating, ambient temps, humidity and changes in barometric conditions. No one outside of these parameters operate their vehicles under these conditions. IMHO if spending the money for nitrogen filled and maintained tires makes you feel better than go for it. I personally do not see the benefit FWIW.

Yup, we did "burnish the shower walls" in basic training and tech school. Daily barracks inspections complete with "white collar beds" weren't loads of fun. While I was doing some duty with the Marines and the Navy, they were also "making things look good" for inspections, so either it "wore off" on them or it's just a "military thing." It was "different" to share a 6 stall latrine with 5 other people, sitting "knee to knee" 3 on each wall, to attempt a morning ritual. The "lack of privacy" in the Navy was even more austere than it was in basic training in the USAF. I'll admit, I left that 2 week south Pacific cruise "seasick, well constipated and barely showered". I don't know how the Navy survives..... Now the Marines, after a day in the field, who needs "a USAF mattress".... Comfort was just being able to slow down for a few. I could close my eyes and sleep anywhere after 12+ hours of jogging, walking, wading, crawling through everything from mud to treetops...... To say that was an "experience" would be to compare jumping out of an airplane WITH a chute to jumping WITHOUT one !!! Two weeks in the field with the Marines was enough for this "prop-top's" lifetime.....

And to "stay on topic"... (I forget what the topic really is)... The Navy also folds the TP at 45 degrees, the Marines, well I never found any except the comfort packets in C rations...... Hmmmmmmm

LOL. To stay on topic, did you balance the TP rolls...or not???

Nope, I never could find a "center spring centric" adapter to fit the roll.... That said, unless you're in a "really big hurry" it doesn't spin fast enough to wobble anyway......

Chip,

It's understood that water flows down the drain "clockwise" north of the equator and "counterclockwise" south of the equator... Are you saying that TP flows "over the roll" east of the divide and "under the roll" west of the divide ??? Hmmmmm what a concept !!!!!

Had Discount tire dynamically balance the Yokohama YK-HTX's they put on our 5er.
They have a decent sized lot, so no issue taking the 5er to them to R&R the old and new.
