Trash

What products do your recommend for the daily trash? I see a lot of campers with plastic bags around there site and always felt that you could attack animals that way.

We use plastic bags, but we keep it inside. When its full, we will throw it in the back of the truck so we can throw it away the next time we go somewhere. Some parks have you set it out in front of your trailer along the road and they pick it up daily.

We've tried the collapsible trash cans before and lost them when the wind came up. Now we just use a black yard waste bag. If I keep it over night I'll put it in the basement storage. We always throw it away when we take the trash out from the camper, regardless of how full it is.

I never leave garbage out overnight. We use a plastic bag kept in the garage and dispose of it if the park has a morning pickup or a dumpster, or haul it out when we leave the boondocking spot.

We have a covered tall kitchen barrel that we put a bag in and leave it outside near the kitchen. If we are at a campground that warns us of bears, we will empty each night. If not we can generally get through the weekend with one bag.
