Statesville NC area campgrounds?

Recommendations needed. We have been trying to find a nice campground for the 4 the of July weekend in the Statesville area or within an hour of there. We will be visiting family and would like to have some activities in the CG for our Granddaughter if possible. We have looked online in RVParky and TripAdvisor for reviews but keep finding places that are noisy from the interstates or sites are difficult to maneuver into and out of. I tow a 32' TT behind my club cab truck. Thanks in advance.

Nice KOA in Statesville,
Winston Salem has a nice RV park @Tanglewood, that would be in the one hour away area. This RV park has just been reopened after a remodel. I would call now and hope for the best.
NOT sure of anything else that would be in the time window. High Point has a nice RV park at Oak Hollow Lake right in the middle of the city, that might push your one hour time frame area. BUT it is nice too. Again July 4th week..
Hope this helps. If I think of more I will post.

You might try Crosswinds in Linwood, NC. It is off of I-85 just north of Salisbury. Nice family campground and quite.

Tanglewood at Clemmons is very nice. It is in a large county park with a lot of wooded area. I think there is a golf course, stables, etc also. It was recently remodeled and all utilities and roads are new.
Some sites are not level so bring some blocks.
Check campgroundreviews.com
The kids, and you, might enjoy the tour at Richard Childress Racing NASCAR shop in the small town of Welcome on hwy 52.

Thanks everyone. May consider Carowinds too. Not sure if we want to go to the amusement park.

Depending on your time, a tour of Old Salem might work too.

FYI...the last time I was at Tanglewood I asked them why they spent all that money remodeling the RV park and didn't level the sites....the county government won't allow them to change any elevations in the park.

Toured Old Salem a few years back. It was very nice. Thanks for the info on Tanglewood too.
