I use a shelf liner that is non skid. Walmart or Target have it at a reasonable price.

Non-Slip Grip liner (rubberized shelf liner) for shelves & drawers where needed.
It's available at many stores: $ Store, Walmart, hardware, etc & comes in various thicknesses.

For plates: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...-a-plate/38323
As an alternative, cut a narrow strip of the non-slip liner (above) & place between each plate.

Depending on the location of your kitchen, you may need to get "creative" for traveling.
Example - with a rear kitchen floorplan, the cabinet items may bounce/move more than on other floorplans.
RV cabinet bars come in 2 sizes/lengths - be sure to measure the intended use area. You can also use
tension curtain rods... same (spring loaded) design & usually less expensive than RV specific item.

Hope this helps,

What do we use? In addition to using a non-slip liner in the dishes cupboard, we throw a small "throw" cushion in there before we travel. When we first got the 5th wheel, the dish cupboard door came open while on the road and we lost quite a few glass cups, plates, etc. Since that happened, I installed an extra latch on the door which has worked so far.

Where do we get the cushion? We borrow it from the couch.

Not sure where my post earlier went, anyway...

We use one cabinet for the paper goods, plates, cups, napkins and plastic utensils. We have another cabinet that we carry coffee cups and plastic drink cups. This cabinet is packed tight so no movement. The coffee cups are the only glass that we carry. All meals etc are eaten off the paper plates, we use chinet as we get them for free. We like to go this way as the last thing we want to do while camping is to clean dishes.

No need to line shelves or secure dishes to travel.

Yep, that stuff. We also set that on the counter under the coffee pot and toaster.

Same answer---that cheap non slip stuff available about anywhere. I have only a glass for my martini on the rocks and a glass coffee mug. Otherwise we use all melamine and plastic plates, cups, etc. I just make sure my two glass pieces are away from the front where they could fall out. We don't take any special precautions when getting ready to travel and just open the doors slowly when we arrive somewhere.

The non slip stuff works great and we also use what I'm gonna call a plate cradle. It holds our plates and bowls vertically in the cabinet. We have also adopted the use of cabinet door child locks to prevent the doors from opening while in transit.
And yes there is a back story to that.

Smile

we use the no slip mats but also lay the wine glasses etc on their side and put a towel in the cabinet to fill it up and then no movement.

I can't imagine just using paper plates etc. , one of the things we love about the rv is full hook ups and having all the comforts of home including dishes and nice wine glasses.
