I don't know if they really qualifies as a DIY or not, but I am sure it counts as a modification/upgrade!
I've grown weary of fighting the rust problem on the cheap chrome wheels on my Cougar x-Lite. I didn't like the other option of spending $500 on a set of aluminum wheels, so I decided on another option.
With the help of my local friend and Line-X dealer, I had one of his products applied Aspart-X. Basically, this is a poly topcoat that is used over bedline applications to retain color and gloss. Supposedly, it is tough as nails and will last... time will tell. I then added ABS chrome trim rings and center caps to finish the look.
IMHO, it is a distinctive look, highly unique (as I have never seen another RV with this appearance), and should provide a long life.
What do you all think?
