Canadian Maritimes

We are preparing to get out to the maritimes for our first time in September. We hope to be able to cover NB, PEI and NS.

Recommendations for campgrounds and scenic sites would be appreciated.

In PEI, stay at New Glasgow Highlands Campground in New Glasgow. It is at the center of the island for day trips and it's spotless, beautiful, and the owners treat you like family, can't say enough about the place....

Just a trip across the "new" bridge onto PEI alone is almost worth the trip. A great story behind it and a great bridge.

Rayport campground near Mahone Bay. Mahone Bay is a great little town to visit, their Main Street is a nice walk! A tour of Oak Island where they are shutting the curse of Oak Island, the longest running treasure hunt is a great day. Sites are right on a river.

The Ovens, beautiful campground with some caves and ability to pan for gold. Could also take in Peggy's cove either here or from rayport. Sites over look the Atlantic Ocean.

Brasdor Lakes Camp ground. It is on the lakes but sites are not overlooking, it is a good home base to do the Cabot trail. Lot of big rigs and over nighters stay here, they have a quite hour at 1030 and it is fires out. Owners will be around to enforce it.

Seal Island Bridge KOA and Arm of Gold are also good picks as a centeral locations. They could enable day trips of the Cabot trail, the fortress, glade bay miners museum, down town Sydney and if you were adventurers, walk on day trip to Newfoundland.

We are heading out in a couple of days and wanted to thank those that provided insights on where to stay while in the maritimes.

I heard there have been some gasoline shortages in Nova Scotia this last week. Is that now over with and are gasoline supplies back to normal?
