Atwood Stove

Im not sure about the rest of the stoves used in the Keystone trailers but mine is an Atwood 3 burner with oven. The only way I can light it is with a lighter. There is no manual striker or anything. I was wondering if any one has any information about how to install an Electronic igniter to this stove. This site shows where one was upgraded from a manual striker to an electronic igniter but Im not sure if I can do the same to my stove that has none at all.
http://www.ourelkhorn.itgo.com/stovestrike.htm. Has anyone done this?

I have to lite my stove with a grill lighter in my fuzion 301. No auto lite that I could find. I don't have a problem with it because I don't use the stove a lot.

My current rig doesn't have a striker. My old trailer did, and now that I'm used to using a BBQ lighter I don't miss it one bit.

I'm thinking about swapping it out for a new Suburban with a smoked glass two piece cover, striker for the top burners is just icing on the cake IMO.

My three burner Dometic is striker lit, but the oven has a pilot light. Seems odd to me, but I adapt. Its really nice to cook with gas. Home is electric.

Oven temp seems to run cooler than selected temp, so I'll probably get one of those temp indicators that hang inside. We always tell each other that we're "camping" and recall life in a tent or the popup camper on the back of the truck.

I have yet to see any brand of stove that you don't have to light the oven pilot.

Using a grill lighter is ok for a cheap camp stove I guess. I figure if its available why in name of common sense didn't they just add it on. My last trailer had one as did the one before that and both of them together didn't cost what I paid for this one. Im sure its a way to cut cost but I just can't understand why they chose that area to cheapen the unit. The stove with or with out the igniter is not that much different in retail price. Ive researched the site that I linked to my OP and have been in contact with the gent that actually did that mod. I now have all the stuff to do that mod to my stove. I actually found a spark generator that has 4 ports so that I can wire my 3 burners and the oven. Should be pretty nice when its complete.

I too was surprised that the stove did not have electronic light but I, like others, keep a lighter near the stove inside and out. Hope your mod works out for you and as you said, interesting that they did not come that way.

I finished up that mod on my stove. It now has an igniter that connects to all 3 burners plus the oven. It took a little bit of time but it wasn't too bad of a job. It looks super clean and works perfectly. Nothing like a happy camper right!
