North Tampa

Anyone have a good recommendation for a good spot north of Tampa on the beach?

From what my friend in Wesley Chapel says, you pretty much have to reserve a year in advance to get into Fort DeSoto

Fort DeSoto is a Pinellas County park. The reservation window is six months, seven if you're a County resident. Great campground, especially if you get one of the waterfront sites. Have stayed there a few times and returning in March for two weeks.

Yeah thats pretty much the case for any RV park in Florida during this part of the year. You may have some luck with walk up but get there early. Well worth the attempt esp if you get a water front. Call several times a day you might get lucky. We were able to pull off some last minute camping at multiple locations just by working the phones. Good luck with the trip.

We got a site in DeSota one day before getting there, someone always cancels . At least a call is worth the time.
