Winegard Satellite Dish

Does anyone know whether the 2012 Alpine 3555RL is prewired for satellite in the ceiling or do I have to route all cables?

Is there a cable or satellite prep plug on the outside anywhere? If so, then yes all you need is a dish and receiver and associated wires.

Was there any reference to "Prewiring" in any of the brochures on your rig?? If not I would say no, as that is fast becoming a selling point for may. The problem with some of the prewired units, is that they aren't wired as the buyer would like. We ordered our SOB and specified exactly where we wanted cables, sure made the Sat Dish connection alot easier.

Hey Thanks for the responses. Looks like I will anchor the unit on my roof and route the wires through the sewer vent pipe chase and head for the underbelly.

Can't find a better route.

Thanks

I would think that a 2012 RV would be wired for satellite. My 2011 Fuzion 322 is wired and used it with a portable satellite unit this last week for the first time without any issues. I could only get it to play in the living area and not the bedroom or garage but hoping to get that to work also.

On my 2012 Alpine 3500RE the satellite input is in the water works area. I am looking to add the Winegard on my Alpine and wonder where is the best place to mount on the roof.

Question 2011 Alpine 3500RE Satellite dish

Thinking of getting a Directv roof mounted dish. Just wondering if you ever had a response to your question about where is the best location and how to tap into the existing satellite feeds. I have an ground mounted dish now and have HD Directv working great, however when we travel this winter I would like a roof mounted option. Anyone?

Personally, I would not recommend a roof mounted dish as it will limit the availability of reception in many campgrounds. I use a Directv slimline 3 HD dish on a tripod, and about 100' coax so I can put the dish where needed for clear view of the sats. I run two coax from the dish and use the cable and sat connections on the outside to feed my receivers.
I have modified the factory coaxial circuits in my rig (without adding any) so can use two satellite receivers at 2 different tvs.
If you would like any further info on the mods I made let me know.
