TV brake switch

The brake switch on my 2011 Chevy Silverado started to malfunction. 1st sign was my cruise control quit working. This past weekend i took the trailer to my Brother in Laws shop to repack the bearings and check the brakes and all that. When I returned home ( a 20 mile trip), the hubs on the trailer were extremely hot. Puzzled why this happened, I started checking things out. Jacked up each wheel to check if they would spin, yes , any back forth side to side movement, nope. Long story short, it ended up being the brake switch not fully disengaging cause power to continue to the trailer brakes and kept them from disengaging. Thankfully it was a short trip and not on a highway..

Never knew about this, now i do!

Brake adjustment being over tightened can also cause this.
