Towing question
Hello everyone
Iam new to trailers and I recently bought a 2004keystone outback 21rs .
My question is I drive a 2014 Benz gl350 diesel and apparently it can tow about 7300lbs , what’s everyone opinion for my car and the trailer that I bought would you think it’s safe to tow? And I believe that trailer weighs about 4200lbs .
Thank you and Iam very excited to get into the RVing lifestyle

Here we go again! Welcome to the forum.
1. Forget about "I think". Go weigh everything.
2. Forget about the advertising brochure and look st the weight stickers o n your SUV. You can post pictures will help.
3. Weight Distributing Hitch (WDH)-get one.
4. Get thick skin, as some will be blunt in their opinions shared. It's not about ridicule but is about safety and being aware of your situation and limits.
There's a start.

Very good advice! Just make sure you have more than enough tow vehicle for what you are towing. Semi's on the interstate and high side winds can give you a lot of grey hair in a hurry, if you don't already have it. The only addition to the above I might add is "Sway Control".

Yes it does, but is necessary. It is not a place to skimp.

Make sure your vehicle is built to accept WD style...not all vehicles are.

Typical mistake your making, you list the max weight the vehicle can tow, you need to know the max loaded weight of the trailer not what they say the dry weight is, no one pulls a dry weight RV camping. That would be listed on the VIN sticker as GVWR. More important is the tongue weight of the loaded trailer and your payload of the tow vehicle. A little more work and you will know those numbers.
