I have 24k on my 14 3500 Laramie and love it. No issues yet. Use b&w drop in hitch and it works great

How is Dodge's newer 6speed automatic holding up? Im looking at upgrading my 04 Hemi 2500 at the end of the summer. Im undecided at this time on going with the Manual or Automatic. Dodge and its automatic transmissions have had some issues over the years.

Thanks Bushman,

I'm like you and a Mopar or No Car Person . I've owned 1992 and 1994 Dodge Dakotas, 1997 1500 Ram (only automatic in the group and it gave my problems ), 2001 Ram 1500 Off-Road Edition and my current truck the 04 Hemi 2500. I haven't heard anything bad about the new Mopar 6-speed auto but I'm still sweet on the manual shifting even after all these years. The DW is pushing me towards the auto incase we are traveling and I can't drive then she can take over so I'm seriously considering it and hoping that one I had was just a fluke.

Bushman512000, nice.
A new tow vehicle followed the DW and myself home this past Friday, 2015 3500 Dodge crew cab CTD long bed Laramie SRW. What a sweet ride. New hitch is due to arrive today (Curt Q-16 with OEM puck system for Ram). I will try to attach pic. HAPPY CAMPIN....

I have a 2014 Ram 3500 with 20" factory wheels. With the 25k B&W hitch with the pucks, my Mountaineer rides very level

I sure like it better than the superglide I had in my precious short wheel base. So much easier to hook up and unhook. I love it too. Very solid!!

I have a 2008 ram 3500, with the 68RFE and getting close to 200,000Kms, trans has been flawless, never touched except for fluid service. I run my truck hard up the local mountain highways, and up steep forest service roads. Works good-will it last forever: No, but a clutch job on a manual is also pricey (Although i could do that myself)

Me and you are in the same boat. Yea the clutch job is pricey but it would only cost me parts. Plus I still have fun truly driving my machine.
