When in the Ashville area we spent a week at Mamma Gerties a Good Sam Park. Very nice site carved into a steep hill side. Close to the highway exit then a short narrow road to the site entrance. We were on the first plateau and at that time they were expanding cutting another plateau further up the hill side.
Nice size sites. If you are used to flat camp grounds this will definitely be different. Since it is in the sticks nice walking trails through the woods. Quiet, clean, and very friendly camp site personnel. Would definitely stay there again.
Looked at Bear Creek if I recall had a pool, flat, with two major highways close by. Highways looked too close by for us.
