I don't know if you meant ark to mean Arkansas but you won't be anywhere near Arkansas.

Exactly what route are you taking? I run hwy 65 (Ark to MO) quite often but don't think that is enroute for you (usually stay in Branson).

Highway 65 is mostly good 2, 4, and 5 lane road from the Arkansas stateline to stateline. You should have no problems taking 65. 65 will run into 530 at Pine Bluff, around exit 10 there is major construction and traffic is down to one lane in each direction all the way to Little Rock. North of Conway you will get into some hills, all the way to Springfield, MO. Can't tell you about north of Springfield.

Be sure and get fuel before you get off I-20, there is not many stations between there and Lake Village. Don't ask me how I know.

Can't help with any private campgrounds, we usually stay in State or COE parks. Here are a few Google maps of state and COE parks:
Lake Chicot (the t is silent) State Park:

Wooly Hollow State Park:

Tyler Bend (This park has no hook ups but a great place to stay if you don't mind to boone dock. If you have a day to spend and like to canoe or kayak.):

This campground is just off 65 before you get to the Mo state line. Close to Branson. My ex son-in-law owns it. Very nice quiet, clean campground.

prae35,

We've never traveled 65 through the entire state of AR, but I can offer a few overnight RV stops which may be helpful (depending on your plans, of course).

Pine Bluff, AR: Pine Bluff Regional Park [Hwy 65, go N onto Regional Park Dr]. Nice/clean park, large sites w/ lots of trees/shade, on the lake.

Little Rock, AR: We typically don't stay *in town*, but there's several RV Parks along 65/530/30/40.

Ozark, MO: Stage Stop RV [Hwy 65, at Jct Hwy CC, turn East]... not scenic by any means it's a gravel parking lot with Full Hook-up's, WiFi & long pull-thru's -PLUS-
it's directly behind Lambert's Cafe #2 - "Home of the throwed Rolls". Fun place to eat! www.throwedrolls.com The original Cafe is in Sikeston, MO.

Springfield, MO: KOA Springfield [off of I-44, west side of town, Exit 70] Older park, but nice/clean with some shaded pull-thru's, very nice owners/staff, good overnight stop.

Hope this helps, and to the forum.
Terri, the Chevy co-pilot

north to mo

thanks for all your help. I'll check them out. this will be our first vacation in 35 years. Usually 3 or 4 day trips. getting older has some perks. 65 looks like a pretty good road.

65 is a pretty good road just take your time. Stretches of it are 2 lane and twisty. Depending on where you are the traffic can get pretty congested.....just go with the flow and give yourself plenty of time to get from a to b.
