Brake Controller????

As some of you know I had a 2000 F-250 that got totaled

I was able too replace the truck with a 2001 F-250, but no one at Ford or even the camper place can help me out with the brake controller. I know that when the guy put the controller in the truck there was a bag in the glove box that had some wire's and other things, and of course the truck I bought has nothing

Can someone help me with what I need

I don't know about earlier model years, but my 2003 Excursion came with a pigtail that plugged into a factory socket under the dash and had about 6 inches of wire to connect to the brake controller. It also had a wiring diagram.

I put in a Prodigy 2 controller. There was a plug under the dash. Pretty much just a plug and play install. Look on Prodigy's site. I think they have a video. etailer.com might have a video also. I have a 99 F250.

If you get a Prodigy (the only game in town as far as I'm concerned) you should be able to just plug and play. On one rig, years ago, I had to change a couple wires but the instructions were very clear. Just make sure you get the info to match your truck and the Prodigy.

If all fails, check into having it done at a local shop. Shouldn't be too bad. Maybe $ 100 labor. I had it done and the controller and labor was $200. Just FYI.

Plugged the controller in today and mounted it up. When I hit the brakes the light comes on I think Ford needed too place the plug in a harder stop I know it's easy to see but if your a big dude like me with big paw's, it was kinda tight
