generator hook up

Hi ya'll. I just purchased a 3500w generator for my 2009 Montana which has the front bay generator prep'd. There are five wires in the junction box, my generator only required 3 for the hook-up. I called Keystone for an explanation of what the 5 wires were for, however, they said there was no schematic for this. Does anyone know which two wires I would NOT hook up to. Thanks so much. ranmaur,

What kind of generator did you buy? If it's a portable one, you'd probably be better not using the connections in the bay. You'd have to buy cable to keep the generator a distance from the RV to avoid carbon monoxide. It would probably be much easier to use the shore power cable, a 30 amp adapter and position the generator at least 10 or 15' away from the trailer.

Now, if you bought a mounted generator, that all goes out the window.
